Glowing Embers Japanese Maple is a slender deciduous tree with andense rounded crown and intense fall color.  The large, deeply palmated bright green foliage turns a kaleidoscope of shades from yellow, bright orange, reds and even purples until it settle to firey red in fall.  Small non-showy but attractive umbels of purplish-red flowers bloom in spring followed by red samaras.  Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Prefers full sun in cooler climates, but needs afternoon shade in southern areas.  Glowing Embers is one of the variety with good sun tolerance in the South, and is drought and heat resistant.
