Taylor’s Rudolph Yaupon Holly is a dwarf evergreen shrub with small, glossy dark green leaves that emerge brick red in spring.  The clusters of inconspicuous but fragrant flowers in spring give way to heavy red fruits in fall which lasts through winter.  Best planted in moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Hollies are dioecious and need both male and female plants to produce fruit.  Taylor's Rudolph is disease and drought tolerant, but intolerant of air pollution.
