Autumn Flame Red Maple is a fast-growing deciduous tree with a rounded crown and is a cold-hardy male selection noted for its smaller leaves and early fall color.  The lightly palmated leaves emerge red and mature to dark green with grey-green undersides before turning brilliant scarlet in fall.   Inconcipcous spring flowers.  Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.
