Common Bearberry is a creeping woody evergreen perennial with glossy dark green foliage that turns bronze in winter Miniature drooping pink flowers bloom in terminal clusters in summer and are followed by drupes that ripen to red in fall. Flowers best in full sun and sandy dry to medium well-drained soils.  Tolerates light shade and drought.

Bearberry leaves are sometimes used for inflammation and to fight infections in the kidneys and bladder.*
