Empress of China Dogwood is a small semi-evergreen flowering tree with glossy bright green leaves that turn purple in winter.  Extremely heavy blooms coat the branches in mid to late spring with large button flowers that have large white petal-like brackets.  Attractive red late summer fruits follow the flowers.  Prefers part sun and slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil.  Has excellent resistance to mildew and anthracnose.
