Holly Fern is a genus of fast-growing evergreen ferns with fronds that generally range from 1-2 ½’ that sport wide, dark green, and glossy holly-like leaflets.  They thrive in shade and slightly acidic, moist, and well-drained soil.  Holly Ferns have better heat tolerance than many other ferns.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Water regularly.  Minimal cleanup in spring pruning back damaged fronds before new fronds.  Root rot can be an issue if the soil doesn’t drain well, and slugs can be a problem as well.
