 Coastal Plain Joe Pye Weed is a sturdy upright native perennial with coarsely-toothed lance-shaped foliage and un-branching  purple spotted stems.  Clusters of feathery lavender-pink flowers bloom in flat clusters atop of stems from late summer into fall and turn buff as they mature.  Blooms best in  full sun and moist well-drained soil.  Some drought tolerance and pest resistance.
