Wood Spurge is a herbaceous evergreen perennial that grows in upright mounds.  The foliage grows in whorls with matte green leaves with purple undersides which gain more purple-burgundy tones in fall.   A large inflorescence of yellow-green flowers blooms in late spring into summer, attracting bees and butterflies. Best shape in full sun and dry, well-drained soils.  Broken stems have a milky white sap that can cause significant skin irritation and is poisonous if ingested.
