Nathan Bedford Forrest Rhododendron is an open upright native deciduous shrub that is part of the Confederate General Series that is noted for its larger fragrant flowers.  Nathan Bedford Forrest has large ruffled orange flowers that bloom in spring as new growth emerges and dark green foliage that turns orange-bronze in fall.  Best grown in part sun and rich, moist, acidic well-drained soils.  Both powdery mildew resistant and heat tolerant.
