Silverine Hens and Chicks is a mat-forming evergreen succulent  that grows in large rosettes of flat silver-green foliage with a pointed tip that flushes with reddish-purple at the base as the weather cools.  The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks).  Infrequently in summer a short stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of deep pink flowers.  The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow.  Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils.  Drought and heat tolerant once established.
