Brunette Bugbane is a perennial with deeply cut bronze-purple tripinnate foliage that maintains its color. Tall wiry flower spikes sporting numerous intensely fragrant purple-white flowers go up in late summer into fall attracting butterflies and pollinators. Best bloom in rich moisture-retentive soils. Brunette has insect repellent properties.
