Smokey Jazz Sage is a tender low-mounding herbaceous perennial with a compact rounded habit and dark green foliage that has a light anise fragrance when bruised. Spikes of tiny, nectar-rich nectar-rich saturated violet flowers with black calyces bloom from midspring until frost, attracting hummingbirds. Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils.
